His carving has graced the top of one of the Queen’s coaches – but while this may have been the crowning moment of O H Boyd’s career, there have been many more landmarks along the way.

Now the long-established local woodcarver is visiting Barrow on Thursday, September 7 to talk about his work and his many sculptures and paintings, which have included the Longitude carving of John Harrison for the collection of the late publisher Felix Dennis and a portrait tribute to actor Robert Hardy, who died recently.

The talk, entitled The Queen, the Angel and the Archer, takes place at the Methodist Chapel room on Barrow High Street, starting at 7pm.
