My second term of office as Mayor of North Lincolnshire has come to an end and has absolutely flown by.

To spend a year once again representing North Lincolnshire has been a great honour for myself and my Mayoress Carol who has been an incredible support and ambassador throughout.

Carol and I have thoroughly enjoyed our Civic year and met some wonderful people from all walks of life and who have done some extraordinary things like George “Johnny” Johnson the last surviving member of the Dambusters Crew.

There are many people to thank for their support during our Mayoral year but we would like to say a special thankyou to Ann Liles for officiating as our Mayors Chaplain and did a sterling job.

Things that stand out during my year are varied but to me the most outstanding event was my skydive.

What an exhilarating experience and after making a soft landing I was quite overwhelmed and emotional that I had just done a tandem sky dive.

Although it was out of my comfort zone the reason I did was for my Mayors Charity “When You Wish Upon A Star” to make a special day come true for some sick and very sick children.

I was delighted to announce that thanks to the generosity of the people of North Lincolnshire the sum of just under £42.000 was raised for my charity during my Mayoral year.

In total for my two terms of office as Mayor of North Lincolnshire the figure is just under £76,000 which has and will benefit some sick and very sick children to make a special day come true in their lives .
